Two weeks ago I was on the way to my home from my uncle’s .A mild voice of ghantasala I heard .Its Bhagavad Gita , a person sitting there on a cycle told his neighbor some one might died !!
No doubt I was shocked. He is none other than an Indian .The speeches of Krishna are defined by a person as the words after death.
Not him, many think so. This is not the first time I heard that , while I was travelling to Rajahmundry, 5 days ago a person asking his co-traveler in the bus when he heard a ring tone of Bhagavad Gita ,hey "Why did you set your ring tone that song? It’s played whenever someone dies".
Nowadays people using Bhagavad Gita as a background song on the way to burial ground only.
Is it not a question of the image of Bhagavad Gita but the existence Hindu scripture especially Indian culture.
Our ancestors defined a tradition, to maintain it is our responsibility .At least not to steal its value.
It is at times referred to as the "manual for mankind". It’s a management guide.
Bhagavad Gita often being described as a concise guide to Hindu theology and also as a practical, self-contained guide to life.
The context of the Bhagavad Gita is a conversation between Lord Krishna and the Arjuna taking place on the battlefield before the start of the war . To clarify Arjuna's and moral dilemma about fighting his own people, Lord Krishna explains to Arjuna his duties as a warrior and prince, and elaborates on different yogic and vedanthic philosophies, with examples and analogies.
Bhagavad Gita proposes that true enlightenment comes from growing beyond identification with the temporal ego, the 'False Self', the ephemeral world, so that one identifies with the truth of the immortal self, the absolute soul
The soul (Atma) is eternal and immortal. Any 'death' would involve only the shedding of the body, whereas the soul is permanent. During this course he describes it in a sloka
jatasya hi dhruvo mrtyur dhruvam janma mrtasya ca
tasmad apariharye'rthe na tvam socitum arhasi
How funny if people understand it in another way.
It may seems like a funny thing but it’s a serious issue.
There is no need of education to understand this .It is needed a care and concern about our tradition and culture and common sense.
